I have another simple DIY project for you that turns a plain table into a bright, festive tablescape that kids will love! It’s so easy, my 4 year old helped me, so you can definitely get the kids involved… unless you don’t trust them with confetti! =) With summer winding down, my friend Taressa and I knew we wanted to set up a really bright table for our kids play date. It turned out pretty cute!!

Supplies
The supplies you need:
Bag of confetti (I got mine at Party City)
Foam brush
Clear placemats (I actually used cheap, clear cutting boards from Amazon!)
Instructions
Starting at the top, use the foam brush to apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the placemat. Sprinkle generously with confetti so that it sticks everywhere. I added in some gold dot confetti as well that I had in my craft closet. You can use metallic or tissue paper confetti. Amazon has a ton of confetti to choose from that could go with any color or theme. Party City also had a lot of choices. You want to work kind of fast so that the glue doesn’t dry before adding the confetti pieces. Tap off excess confetti. If there are bare spots, you can reapply glue and keep going to add more confetti. I’m going to be honest. I don’t feel like these placemats will last a lifetime. HA! I’m sure they will shed over time. But if you are having a birthday party, this is definitely a fun, decorative accent that does not cost much money at all! I also love that you can see the texture! As opposed to just buying paper placemats that may have a confetti printing on them. Plus the sun or lighting gives it a really nice shine and sparkle!
Here’s a quick look at the DIY:
We set the table with clear plates (find them on Amazon here) so you could really see the confetti placemat. What kid doesn’t want to eat off of confetti? Haha!
