How to Create a Tropical Fiesta Taco Bar

Another collaboration in the books with my best gal pals! This one was a Palm Springs inspired fiesta perfect for all summer long! My part of this party was a pool side taco bar. I’ll show you my food and decor to make this easy to recreate! We also have a gorgeous tablescape by Oh How Charming, festive chips & salsa station by Rusty Chic Decor and a delicious margarita cart by Pixels & Pop!

Food

I served carnitas tacos with corn tortillas, salsa verde and cotija cheese. My side dish was a corn salad. First time making this and it was amazing! I finished out the table with lots of blood oranges, limes, fresh cilantro and cut oranges. Decorating tip: decorate your table with colorful food! We used lots of terra cotta planters in our fiesta. So to bring in that design to our food, we use terra cotta plates for the tortillas and cheese. I just washed them ahead of time. You can also place a piece of wax paper on the bottom.

Decor

Jenn of Pixels & Pop made our beautiful invitation and printables. I’m loving my Palm Trees and Tacos Please table sign! The water color is just so pretty! I used an upside down terra cotta pot with a tray as a stand to give the table some height. All 4 of us girls doing this party went to Trader Joe’s for flower and we were all able to get almost the same flowers! And we live in 4 different cities across the country. That was one way we were able to keep things cohesive. But also, Trader Joe’s is the best and most affordable place to get great flowers any time of the year. So for a tropical fiesta, lots of bright colorful flowers are the way to go! As well as adding in tropical flowers, palm trees, cactus and succulents. Other pieces of decor I added were large lanterns, sombreros, white papel picado, and a letter board with a fun saying! And can’t forget the large flamingo pool float to bring in that Palm Springs vibe! Who enjoys a good fiesta?! Hope you enjoy!
