Kids Christmas Party Play Date

I had our neighbors over for a Christmas party and made some cute treats for the kids that I wanted to show you all! Plus a DIY ornament ball garland cake topper!

Food

To start, I made a strawberry tree from a styrofoam cone. Use toothpicks to hold the strawberries in and mint to cover up the holes! Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving to give a snowy look. It was really much easier to do than expected!

The other idea I had in mind was to do a play off of the “spider” sandwiches I made for the kids’ Halloween party. I was able to turn little PB & J and cheese sandwiches into reindeer! Again, so easy! And adding candy to a sandwich will ensure my daughter eats at least half before moving on to cake. HA!

I had left over clear tubes from another party, so I put a serving of hot chocolate mix into each tube and topped with marshmallows! Added a bow and it’s a super cute presentation!

DIY Cake Topper

I am so in love with this cake topper. Just the cutest! One of my favorite DIY’s. And yet again, so easy! I had small, decorative ornaments, and all I did was hot glue them together to look like a trendy “Balloon Garland”, but out of ornaments. Then glued it to cake pop sticks. Instead of a traditional cake stand, I used a clear bowl, upside down on a charger, full of gold ornament balls. Fun way to tie in the ornament ball decor.

Tablescape

For the table setting and decor, I used $2 tree paper plates, red paper plates and gold woven placemats from Oriental Trading. Extra ornament balls were scattered down the table, as well as some bottle brush trees from Target Dollar Spot. I added jingle bells and foam cut outs to milk bottles. Also took my DIY wreaths that I made from my Rustic Christmas Social and glued them to chevron paper bags to serve pretzels. Hope you enjoyed viewing my party ideas! Please share with me your kids holiday party ideas as well!
