Confetti Party Play Date

I’m home in Pittsburgh, PA visiting family and friends, one of which being my bestie Taressa Wills. Every chance her and I get to host together, we do! Earlier this year we photographed a kids tea party and an Italian dinner party. She’s my go to photographer in town as well! My daughter Ellie and her twins, Juliette and Thomas, are 5 weeks apart in age. So when they are together, it’s like triplets… 3 musketeers… 3 stooges. HA! The summer will be winding down before we know it, so we wanted to give the kids a bright and colorful play date. This party had a lot of DIY elements, which is totally my thing! We made confetti placemats, a confetti vase, bright balloon garland and colorful hula hoop decor.

Our fun little place setting included a DIY confetti placemat (tutorial to come!) under a clear plate (find them on Amazon here) with a DIY marble clay coaster. Check out my tutorial on how to create these bright coasters! “Yay Summer” napkins came from the Dollar Spot at Target. And the striped water bottle labels are free printable from Bespoke Bride. Grab the free template here!

The kids drank Vitamin Water topped with cotton candy for an over the top presentation. The girls thought they were so fancy! Ha!

I created a festive, frilly vase by gluing confetti to a dollar store vase, then spraying it with a gold glitter spray paint. We added a colorful piece of fringe garland around the top. I love how the white flowers are so whimsy! I feel like this would also be great for a carnival party or fiesta!

To finish up our tablescape, we added a mini balloon garland and a hexagon shelf that Taressa got from Target and spray painted gold. I used a pack of water balloons for the garland, and you can find them on Amazon.

This hula hoop Cheers sign is probably my favorite creation yet! And so easy and simple! I taped fringe garland to a hula hoop. Then used fishing line to hang the Cheers sign so that it looks as if it’s floating. The laser cut wood Cheers sign is from The Crazy Bunny Lady on Etsy. Last, I draped a mini balloon garland to the bottom. The kids had fun posing with it and it turned into an awesome photo prop! Anyone else having one last summer party before school starts?!
