Summer entertaining is here! I love making cheese boards, snack boards, charcuterie boards, grazing boards, whatever you want to call them! So I’m going to show you how to put together a festive charcuterie board your guests will love! I’ve also teamed up with some other amazing food bloggers to do an epic 4th of July pot luck, so if put together, we’d have an awesome spread for the 5 of us to enjoy! I handled the appetizer with Charcuterie. Kathryn of Worn Slap Out took on Flank Steak with Blueberry Balsamic Sauce. Lauren of The Basic Ginger created a Red, White & Blue Slaw. Kirsten of This Celebrated Life made Strawberry Shortcake and Rebecca from Roses & Whiskers went with Cake Pops!!
To start, I always like to include a variety of items in any board I create. It gives your guests options, and who doesn’t like to have a little nibble of everything!? Variety is key to any good board! So think meats, cheese, crackers, fruits, veggies, nuts, all of it! My Pottery Barn pedestal cheese board has been a go to piece for entertaining for years. And I had small star shaped bowls from the Target dollar spot that I knew I wanted to add to the board. Going with the red, white and blue theme, I went with all white cheeses. Starting with a goat cheese from Trader Joe’s, I added honey and some pepper. Goes great with toasted baguette pieces. I used a small cookie cutter to cut stars out of a havarti cheese and found star shaped sesame crackers at my grocery store! Flag toothpicks were used to pin together a cherry tomato and pearl mozzarella ball drizzled with balsamic glaze. I know the basil is missing, but I’m not a basil fan. Add in basil for cute Caprese bites! I folded up some Italian dry salami and tucked in some Citterio salami sticks as well. Finished off the board with red pepper slices, nuts, strawberries and blueberries.
Now check out my amazing foodie friends and see what they brought to the Pot Luck! From main course to desserts, these ladies have some great food ideas for you! Thanks for swinging by!
