Best tablescape tip: Invest in nice white plates that you can use all year round. Add festive or holiday colors through napkins or placemats and flowers. You can not go wrong with this. Plus napkins are much easier to store than stacks of heavy plates. I added a cute popsicle napkin as well for another splash of color. I was so excited I was able to find red, white and blue flowers!
Food tips: Create an easy "flag" board by placing blueberries in a bowl in the corner, and red and white food in stripes along the board. For sugar cookies, I made red, white and blue dough. Rolled it out into stripes and used a cookie cutter to cut out stars. With the scraps, I marbled the dough and cut stars. If you have a set of star shapes that are different sizes, you can cut into the center and remove that piece, and replace it with another color! So easy and cute! You can do this for any cookie cutter shape! For my traditional cherry pie, I topped it with some extra sugar cookies!
Sugar Cookie Recipe is from Jenny's Cookies! My new favorite cocktail is the Smirnoff Red, White and Berry! I added it to some strawberry sparking water and garnished with a red, white and blue popsicle! It gave it just enough sweetness and it's actually quite light and refreshing! How will you be entertaining this year?!
