Mommies Night In Halloween Party

Halloween has thrown up in my house. Ha! We have it everywhere, as we should, because we are big Halloween fans. Since I have so much decor, I wanted to have my besties over for some food and drinks, while the kids were with the dads. I have a fun DIY to show you, as well as a cute Halloween appetizer, so I hope you get some Halloween inspiration! #witchesnightin #squadghouls

The plastic tablecloth backdrop is a pretty hot trend right now, but it definitely intimidated me. I thought for sure it would be hard to do and look awful and be a Pinterest fail. Haha. I thought I would try my take on it and turn it into a hula hoop wreath. And ended up loving it!

I wrapped a hula hoop with white streamer paper. Then cut long, thin strips of plastic tablecloth from the Dollar Tree. Next, I tied each strip tightly around the hoop. When I felt like it was full enough, I trimmed the bottom to fit the circle shape. Last, added bats that I cut from card stock. Has anyone else tried making a backdrop of plastic tablecloth? My strips were not perfectly even and had some jagged edges, but I think the "shredded" look is acceptable for Halloween. Ha!

The cute Boo plates came from the Target Dollar Spot! You can find a black & white striped table runner in the Martha Stewart line at Michaels. Amazon has one for almost half the price as well. The bright orange napkins are from World Market; pack of 6 for $10. ALWAYS go to World Market for cloth napkins. Best deal. The gold, woven placemats were from Oriental Trading. I love how they look like a web! I used them in my kids Halloween party as well. I'm all about reusing and repurposing!

Eyeball Caprese Salad! Ha! How cute/creepy is that?! I just used a balsamic glaze to dot the eyes and drizzle over the whole plate.

The whimsey tree came from Grandin Road and will be going in our front yard after this party! I had wine for the ladies on my bar cart. My signature cocktail for the night was Blood Orange San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (sparkling blood orange juice!) topped with champagne! So yummy! I used a pumpkin jar as a vase for hydrangeas and a sprig of eucalyptus down the runner for a pop of green.

My Pottery Barn chalkboard glasses were perfect name cards for the table! You can find the coupe glasses at Target. Anyone else hosting a Witches Night In? Happy Halloween!

Check out the video of the party!
