Ellie had been asking for a Garden party for a while. I think because she kept seeing a home insurance commercial that starts with the dad saying "I pinkie promised my little girl a fabulous garden party for her birthday..." Anyone know what I'm talking about?? Hahaha! It's on all the time. Anyway, the party girl I am said why not!? This can be so cute! And guys, it was! At least Ellie and I think so. ;) I can't wait to show you the details! Over all, for the garden party, I went with lots of fresh flowers, lots of pretties, and a splash of butterflies. Starting with the chair backs - butterfly wings from the Dollar Tree! The pink tissue paper flowers were from Target years ago that I just never had used! Unfortunately, they no longer sell them. Sad, because they are beautiful and I remember they were only a few dollars. You can find similar ones here.

The true inspiration came from seeing these paper plates and napkins at Target. So adorable. Loved the colors and design! I had my talented baker friend Caitlin of Cafe Everyday Sunday make me cookies for the kids table and dessert table. These adorable butterflies and pink sunflower cookies (more pics to follow) were dusted in edible shimmer and were melt in your mouth soft! So good! She never disappoints! She also ships cookies nationwide. In fact, these cookies were shipped to me from Charleston, SC and not one broke!

For the kids table, I used my round serving tray that I've been using for every party or Insta-photo in the past month! Ha! Opalhouse at Target is just the best! Party tip: Looking to add some color to your plain white tablecloth but you don't have a runner? Use ribbons for an instant, one of a kind table runner! I found these ribbons at Michaels in the new Martha Stewart line.

Each place setting had a cupcake on an individual stand and a flower topper I hand made. To get some ideas on how to make your own cupcake toppers, check out my how to!

Pink lemonade filled each of the milk jar glasses. I wrapped a paper napkin around the glass using double sided tape to secure. And a hot pink ribbon to add detail. Here are the pink sunflower cookies by Cafe Everyday Sunday! Party favors were candy tubes filled with gum balls and topped with a paper tulip flower that Ellie and I made!

Food display details! All fresh flowers were used as decor throughout. The vintage mirror frame is from Ikea and I've been using it in different ways for years! I hung it against our lush ivy wall in the back yard and put one large rose bloom in the center. This was my first attempt at the ever so popular balloon garland and it wasn't as hard as I thought! I had a variety of sizes spilling out of the bar cart, and added large roses and greenery to it! Note to self: Roses have thorns, which pop balloons. So they need to be placed very carefully. Ha! Lesson learned. I had a tiny balloon garland over the vintage ladder above the iced tea station. In our kitchen, I have EAT letters on the wall. They also spell TEA. Haha! Money saving tip: Look around your house at what decor you already have and what you can repurpose for a party. I literally take things off walls!

Watermelon "flowers" were cut with a cookie cutter and added a blueberry to the center; and honeydew pieces were "leaves". I got this "flowers & garden" tin at the Dollar Tree!

When you ask your kid a question on what they want to eat, do they change their mind like 20 times? Mine does. After Ellie told me a few different cake flavors she wanted, I thought, I'll put all of them together and she can't complain! Ha! Neapolitan frosting with some fresh roses on top.

I hope you enjoyed my garden party!
