Star Wars Birthday Party - May the FOURS Be With You
Was this party for my daughter or my husband? =) Well she asked for it, but his birthday is 1 day before hers, so this is a nod to him.
With my daughter turning 4, this was the perfect theme! I can't wait for you to see all of the fun details! To start, I found the black starry backdrop and star garland at Target - worked great! I made the banner from card stock and sticker letters. Find out how here! The cardboard stands of R2D2 and C3PO are from Oriental Trading and really make parties come to life! I've started using the character stands at almost every themed party! The gold sequin table runner is from Just Artifacts and was only $10! The wind was fierce that day, so trying to get a good picture of the balloons was a hot mess! Ha! But the silver "4" balloon came from Michaels and I made the tassel garland for the large white balloon!
Now for the details! Uncle Duff, Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes West, had his amazing crew make us an awesome themed cake! Boba Fett, Stormtrooper and Chewbacca tiers!
This was my first time making cut out sugar cookies with cookie press cutters. And it was so easy! We had these cutters from William Sonoma, and I used Jenny's Cookies recipe and buttercream frosting recipe to make sugar cookie sandwiches. They were delicious! I found the food tags on Over the Big Moon - Free Printables. So easy! If you are like me and not a design wiz, just search on Pinterest for free printables plus the theme of your party, and you are sure to find some cute ones!
The Chewbacca Bites were a hit! Marshmallows on a stick covered in carmel and rolled in Cocoa Krispies. Yum!
Homemade strawberry and vanilla cupcakes! I LOVED these toppers and they took about 32 seconds to make. I used a round paper punch to cut glitter paper and Star Wars stickers over top. The stickers came from Oriental Trading and I used them throughout the party. Check out other topper ideas and how to here.
With all of these sweet treats, I thought it was appropriate to throw in some heathy sweets too. Fruit skewer "light sabers"! Done and done!
Teddy Grahams as "Edible Ewoks"! =)
Drink station cantina! More life-size characters! Both the Vader stand and the air walk Stormtrooper came from Oriental Trading. The Ellie marquee came from my daughter's bedroom! We've had that since before she was born. =)
My husband is a collector of all nerdy things. HA! But his awesome collection of vintage Burger King Star Wars glasses sure came in handy for this party! The silver sequin runner came from Just Artifacts - only $10!
The kids drink station was down at their level.
I dressed up plain black and white cups I already had with themed stickers from Oriental Trading. Lots of silver and gold straws in a Stormtrooper cup made for fun details!
Vader and Chewy cups were a great use of utensil holders! Always look around the house at things you have and get creative with what you can do with them on display!
Black and white striped bags from Just Artifacts with the themed stickers from Oriental Trading made pretty cool chip bags! I used lots of galvanized metal serving trays and containers because I thought it had a great outer space feel! This is actually a planter from the Hearth & Hand line at Target! Again - up cycle things from around the house!
How cute is 7 Leia Dip?! HA! Go here for the recipe!
Tie Fighters - crackers with a cube of cheese between them, held together with cream cheese! All of the galvanized metal chargers came from Hobby Lobby and were 50% off!
Get your picture taken with a Stormtrooper! Props and air walk Trooper balloon from Oriental Trading.
The kids had a blast in the bounce house and taking a whack at the Darth Vader Piñata!
Our Balloon Artist, Theresa, from Madcap Balloons was incredible! She made so many awesome balloon creations for everyone, even the adults! Stormtroopers, light sabers, Darth Vaders, bow and arrows...The kids went nuts for it!
The kids' table was set with a toy light saber at each chair. I found them at the Dollar Tree!
Party favors were light sabers! Candy tubes from Oriental Trading were filled with swedish fish. I bought the Saber wrappers from Make & Do Studio on Etsy. Thank you tags were found on Pinterest by searching free printables. Letter board from Target in my best Yoda speak. =)
My daughter's t-shirt was a custom creation from AllForKidsBoutique on Etsy. The owner Brittany was so quick with replaying to me and mailing out the shirt. Just an overall great experience working with her on this!
Thank you for checking out my Star Wars party! Hope you got some inspiration and ideas for your next party!
